Oliver Peoples was founded in 1987, having a passion for superior product, and service. These core values have remained at the foundation of the brand and endure today. Both brands share a desire to create products crafted of the finest materials with careful attention to detail, and so Bunney worked with Oliver Peoples to create a collection of Opticals. This partnership extends into production, with the styles being handmade in Oliver Peoples’ facilities in Japan, utilising components and packaging produced by Bunney in the UK.
Working closely with their acetate manufacturers to create beautiful custom hues that are both wearable and flattering; shades of tortoise have been selected that are iconic to Oliver Peoples. Lenses are bespoke colours with subtle logos engraved. Distinctive details recognisable for the discerning consumer have been incorporated, from Sterling Silver plaques hallmarked by hand in the UK to the discreet logo plaques inlaid at the temple tip. The hammered texture used throughout the Bunney range is used in temple arms – produced in titanium for strength.
For this collection, the brands looked at traditional styles supplied through British opticians of the past, which would become iconic in look thanks to the wearers. This inspiration would inform three styles.
